ツナミにおそわれて、海辺に1本だけのこった「わらう木」。木と一緒に生き残ったネコのポポたちは、傾いた「わらう木」を起こそうとしますが、びくともしません。やがて、つっかえ棒をもったノラや、縄を持ったブータさんたちが三々五々やって来て、みんなで起こそうとしていると、ゆうれいさんたちも集まってきます……。
