東京郊外で環境保全活動にとりくむ著者が、「計画的避難区域」となった福島の村を訪ねた。放射能に汚染された里山の自然に心を痛めながら、里山に生きる〈いのち〉たちへの思いを描いた絵本。

著者紹介
辻 淑子（つじ　よしこ）
1960年、東京に生まれる。学生時代、日本ナチュラリスト協会で自然観察会の活動に関わる。小学校教員を経て、東北タイの農村に個人ボランティアで入り、日本とタイの草の根教育交流の活動を始める。出産を期に、1995年より移り住み始めたあきる野市で環境保全活動に重点を移す。現在、介護の仕事をしながら、「川原で遊ぼう会」、「さよなら原発─にしたま─」、「放射能汚染から子どもを守るあきる野ネットワーク」などの市民活動を続けている。夫、息子（中２、小４）との４人暮らし。

The author, who is involved in environmental preservation activities in the suburbs of Tokyo, visited a village in Fukushima, which has been designated a “planned evacuation zone. This picture book depicts her feelings for the “life” living in the satoyama, while being deeply moved by the nature of the satoyama contaminated by radioactivity.

About the Author
Yoshiko Tsuji
was born in Tokyo in 1960. As a student, she was involved in nature observation activities at the Japan Naturalist Society. After working as an elementary school teacher, she went to a rural village in northeastern Thailand as a private volunteer and started grassroots educational exchange activities between Japan and Thailand. After giving birth, she shifted her focus to environmental conservation activities in Akiruno City, where she began moving in 1995. Currently, while working as a caregiver, she continues her civic activities such as “Let’s Play by the Riverbank,” “Sayonara Nuke Plant – Nisshima,” and “Akiruno Network for Protecting Children from Radiation Contamination. She lives with her husband and two sons (junior high school and elementary school).
