全校児童108名のうちの74名と10名の教職員が犠牲になった大川小学校の子どもたちや遺族を描いた絵本。大川小学校の被災については、裁判の内容に触れたもの等、多くの本が出されているが、在日20年の英国人ジャーナリストであるリーチャード・ロイド・パリーらによる『津波の霊たち―３ ・11死と再生の物語』（早川書房、2018年）は、遺族たちとも出会い、その地域のことなども丁寧に取材したことがまとめられている。

This picture book depicts the children and bereaved families of Okawa Elementary School, where 74 of the school’s 108 students and 10 teachers and staff members were killed. Many books have been published on the damage to Okawa Elementary School, including those that touch on the contents of the trial, but “Tsunami Spirits: 3 and 11 Stories of Death and Rebirth” (Hayakawa Shobo, 2018) by Leechard Lloyd Parry, a British journalist who has lived in Japan for 20 years, summarizes meeting the bereaved families and carefully covering the area.
